"Go look in the mirror and you will have the answer. The militia, contrary to the insistence of the media, is not an "anti-government hate group." It is not a group of uneducated, backwoods, inbred, hicks who date their sisters. It is not made up of malcontents bent on destroying America. Militiamen are not misfits, they are not psychologically damaged mental defectives.

They are you...

The unorganized militia (legally speaking) is made up of "...all able bodied males between the ages of 17 and 45..." We are all militia. You, me, your dad, your neighbor, your brother, your boss, your dry cleaner, the mail man, the stock boy at the grocery store, the cook at your favorite restaurant, and the cable guy are all members of the unorganized militia.

You might be asking scratching your head thinking that we don't need a militia...what good can they do anyway. You ask, and I'll answer... It was the unorganized militia that brought down that plane in Pennsylvania on September 11 and prevented it from reaching it's target. Now I'll bet your saying, "What? Huh? That was just ordinary people." My point exactly. Ordinary people are the militia. " AWRM

Most people are waking up to the militia is not a taboo topic and a very real need in today's world. It the early 90s the militia was given a bad name by the media and they labeled all militias as hate groups. But this is far from the truth, the militia is formed of all types of people, all colors and religions. The local militia here trains for EMS, and Search & Rescue and have offered help to the State and local police to ad in finding missing people, but are never used.

The militia's main purpose has always been local protection from invaders of all sorts, this is true today. If we were invaded by a foreign government, or own was getting out of hand, it is our duty and right to protect our land and country. If this was to happen every militia member could train others that have not experience in the combat, medical, & communications field to name a few.

The only reason we are the USA is because people had Militias in each town and they formed a army, to defeat the British. This goes with our gun rights if they take our guns then we can not protect ourselves from other, or even our own government. This may be to far for you to believe but when the people lose the right to fight back, freedom disappears. Look at the UK the people are in bad shape, Canada is  getting bad and Australia is there to from what I am hearing.
